... for the 1925th time, or is it the 1926th time ? Well, I assume, it ain't that often from my side, and also pressumily he hasn't broken that record either... or has he?!
Anyway, you can say whatever you wanna say about our good old Axel-Rudi, but one thing is for sure, he still belongs to those ongoing individuals in our german hard rocking music landscape. That's as sure as the Amen at St. Peter's cathedral. Why? - Well, it's like stick to your stuff and you're on the safe side. And he's never tried to change or even renew himself. And... this shouldn't be forgotten, - it's not only himself who is a pearl in a mystery oyster shell of international Heavy Metal, but it's also his collegues up there, who are christened with tons of talents. I'm talking about dressman Mike Terrana (nobody suits a tyrolean hat and a south tyrolean apron better than him... here is the prove :-)

Translation: rather a small one going up, than a big one denying it's job

.. who with his up to date Haute Couture hairstyle sends his bass drums on a cat walk and get it to dance a Congonese rain dance. Or there is Carusos grand-grand son Johnny Gioeli, the dream of all mother in laws, at least what's up to his neat hair cut, and who is giving everything what's up to heavy metal stage gym. Mind me, his individual pearl sparkle are on his vocal cords implanted.  Then we got Ferdy, who is torturing his keyboard with this contant face impression saying: 'don't worry be happy' - And bassist Volker holds against that with a very serious look going for: sports is murder...
So we got the perfect construction, holding the boat above water over all those years. And let's face it, our boys truly kept themselves in a decent shape, not only in a visual way.
’Circle Of The Oath’ is the serious reason to return again. And Munich's Eighties Metal admirers and youthful fans have gathered here at Munich's Backstage Werk to catch up with past memories and to convince themselves, that everything stayed the same and that Hard Rock truly underwent a fresh cell theraphy.

The church service is started by  Mad Max?

Who? - oh yeah those guys.... who once updon a time had a smaller hitsingle... what was it called?
Yep - 'Lonely Is The Hunter' - and is of course included on one of those infamous Munich City Nights samplers...
You remember, this collection, which used to be only available below the desk. But seriously, this group around Michael Voss is going now for 30 years (as long as I'm in this business)
And because of that, Mike & Co can look back onto 10 albums, whereby the youngest baby 'Another Night Of Passion' has just been born. So now we are getting to the main problem here. Because Mad Max always went for this style what is called Melodic Rock (I hate this expression) But it is indeed this kind of guitar orientated mellow rock music, which had seen it's best times beyond the Andromedy Galaxy, if you know what I mean by that.
And that's, why it's still existance is located on the furthest outskirts of the soupbowl, often neclected. Pity though, as also within this musicial style there are great songs to find. The problem is rather to be found in a change of trends, generation clash and the famous flavour of the month. Apart from that: where there is too less promotion, nothing can come out....can it?!
Mad Max are promoting their new album with this show here and take us back on a journey of time - forward to the past and back again - including a small dedication to Gary Moore. And Michael Voss seems to have aged at all, at least from a distance. But he has stayed timeless compared to Melodic Rock music. And don't forget, he is a very good and experienced allround musician and can do almost every job... well sorry - I mean every musician's job. And so he can be found in different bands as well as on other artist's albums from time to time. But Mad Max is his very own Baby, he has raised up with the help of Jürgen Breforth and other's. And you luv your baby, no matter, if you earn much money with it or not... It's as easy as that....

What else to say? They are trying hard to warm up the audiance here, which they can manage so so la la... There are too many die hard Pell deciples here who are waiting with stone-serious faces and their old, but precious metal outfits that their beloved old school hardrock is still very much alive.
Not so the Melodic Rock, and quite a few of these music lovers in the audiance think, that this one is to soft, not realizing the great musicianship. For my sixth sense it feels as if there are double the amount of musicians up there on stage, as there actually are. But well forget that... However, Mad Max have shown, that they are still fit, and that Melodic Rock ain't  dead yet, and that it doesn't matter at all what music it is... In the end everything is up to the right promotion and to money.
And just to repeat myself all over again: "what the farmer doesn't  get, he won't demand...
Music is Music - there is only good and bad
nothing else...

So, but now without any mercy.....

– off we go and Mikey-Boys teeth are blinking for vengeance... or better his magic sticks - ole! And as soon as he has climbed up on his seat to take a sunbath in the limelight, his boss is entering the stage with flying hair and his mircacle axe...
But let's get back to our dead serious live review for Axel Rudi Pell's 2.977th concert, or is it one more... Jes who cares... It's a fact, that Pell ltd. is an institution within Germany's Metal landscape for many years, energetic, swinging the cooking spoon to boil another delicious soup thanks to all those delicate spices. Chilli combined with fine chocolate and some icing and of course the most precious ingrediants the Pell-Safran note does give our Nouvelle Cuisine this special little something. And this tastes really great and full of varieties, always mixed a little different but still the same recepy. But no surprise we all do like our standard Schnitzel most, as we know that it always tastes great. I'm talking about for us fans of solid metal menues. And eye of course eats as well, most of all the photographic lense, which is delighted for this view, presenting itselve's perfectly. But on the other hand those light cascades do spoil the sight a little.  And my lense doesn't like this at all. But well, we gotta live with that and only time for 3 songs to catch some visual impressions. Well this should be enough to keep the taste of this show on our tongue for a long time without any sour shade.

On the whole the Pell' kitchen is still pretty popular with all it's ingrediants and it's combination, what usually is named medley. Inbetween Mike let's his drum sticks do the talking to get the delicious meal boiling. Oh yes I do like this, exspeciouly  the combination of Mystica - Mistreated and Mystica again, where both Chef de partie's Axel and Johnny spice it up.

This is followed by some more pearls and Ferdy gets his chance to throw in one or the other pepper corn on his keys.

For the pudding after the main dish we get 3 more goodies (see setlist) and I'm pretty sure, that everybody in here got satisfied not beeing any hungy anymore. And you know what the nicest thing is? The menu didn't include an calories... no worries to get fat, as some fans did their complete weekly work out tonight by an intensive headbanging exercise.

Our mastro cook does notice this and is delighted by so much love and compliments because of his talents and great performance and he surely has already decided to be back again sooner or later... with another delicious menue.
So please don't let us stay hungry again for too long....
