For the second time this year we welcome this irish musician named Eamonn McCormack here in Germany, or even better defined in Bavaria. Back in April he did play our Garage Rockclub in Munich, but unfortunately not under a good star, as we say so, because of a popular soccer match at the same time. Now for the second time he is guest at the Village Club, close to Garmisch and the Austrian border, an aprox. 30 minutes drive from Munich. And this place is better filled with his steady guests who come here frequently, than back then at the Garage. Yeah well, we always can rely on the Viilage. Indeed, many artists even prefer to play here in the comfi atmosphere of this place with an open fire place in winter time, compared to all these other, mostly impersonal cold concert venues.  Most visitors of the Village come here not only because of the shows, but also for a nice gathering with friends, enjoying simply a good night out. Combined with a good concert, this is almost perfect. I myself try to come here as often as I can, and this is seldom enough unfortunately. But I can asure you, that I've actually never ever seen a bad concert here, as long as I come here.
That's for sure. I can only warmly advise everybody to come here, if this is possible.
Alrighty, back to the action tonight, where Eamonn McCormack plays here for the very first time. Actually with him, also Brian Robertson was scheduled to stand up there on stage. You remember this guitarist, who's been with Thin LIzzy and also Motörhead back in the Eighties. But unfortunatley Mr.Robertson has cancelled his live appearance due to illness.

Some people have actually come here because of Brian Robertson, and when they heard, he's not gonna be there, they wanted to leave again right on the spot, because of disappointment. But in the end they stayed, though a little hesitating and suspicious, as they don't know Eamonn McCormack yet. Funnily you can watch those fans getting in a very good mood again, as the evening goes on, as they really do like what they get here, even without Robertson.
To get it straight, also Eamonn is in this biz for a long time. He had started to discover his talents when he was nine years young, and since then he worked constantly on his skills to get them better and better....

Probably because of the fact, that McCormack had toured for many years under the moniker Samuel Eddy, some friends of good Blues Rock Music still don't know him yet. By the way, his two collegues up there on stage are still the same as back in April - Marc Inti on Bass and Josef Kirschgan on drums.

Eamonn's biggest Mentor had been and still is Rory Gallagher, and you can hear that clearly. Some songs are paying tribute to him, as well as to Chuck Berry. But the priority lies on Eamonn's own material, including some diamonds, such as the great  ‚A Night In The Life Of An Old Blues Singer’, coming from his latest Album ‚Heal The Faith or th smashing 'That's Rock'n'Roll and also the title track of this CD. Apart from that we find tracks from his other album 'Kindred Spirits and and and.... The set is split in two parts as usual at the Village, to give smokers a chance to have their cigarrette outside the main entrance. Eamonn McCormack does mean it good with us tonight playing 80 minutes each set. And so the evening is ending past midnight. Good, that tomorrow is weekend.

Result is a great evening. And to be honest, in the very end nobody in here is missing Brian Robertson, exept for one or the other odd autograph... To mention in the end at least one little point of criticism, the sound is not quite right, the instruments come acrosse much louder, so the voice is drowning occassionally. But well, considering the talents of these three gentlemen, we can neclect this little weak spot.
Unfortunately also this musician belongs to the sort of - hidden treasures, surving somehow below the big screen. And they can't manage on their own, to swim free onto the top, sad but true, as they deserve it so much.
And that's why I'm telling all you out there, next time if you spot a poster with an event advert concerning Eamonn McCormack, then go and check him out, you definately won't regret it.....
