Eieieiei almost unbelievable, that this band is already going for quarter of a centruy. But it doesn't seem so really, maybe because they had been on a hiatus inbetween for quite some years, starting in the middle of the Ninties. However, they have never officially split. Whereby you have to know, that this band was mainly Kory Clarke and still is. He is an extraordinary character with a very excentric vibe and an even more individual aura. He used to be a political rebell, - the James Dean of Rock'n' Roll in a way. Thanks god, he doesn't seem to have a favour for fast cars, otherwise he might not be here anymore thanks to his energetic impulsitivity.
He seems to be pretty well in shape, exept his voice, which he has obviously tortured half to death over the years. But let's get back to this later....
It's a fact, that Kory had been involved in some other band projects and also was busy beeing the frontman of canadian doom metal combo Trouble... Then in 2009 he remembered his real baby again, and the result was 'Destroy The Warmachine', orignally entitled 'Chines Democracy'. But yeah well, they couldn't use that name because of well known reasons. - And now just recently 'Stiff Middle Finger' was born following the slogan: back to the roots... Reason enough to undertake yet another european tour, and as Kory calls Berlin almost his second home anyway, this ain't to difficult to do. The problem is rather the meanwhile missing popularity, as they've been too long away from the scene. And life went on without them. This is supposed to be changed now with a fresh wind in the air. Here they are again.... tonight at Munich's Backstage Club. Luckily (or unluckily - however) the show of Testament orginally beeing scheduled same night next door, has been cancelled. On the other side, it's a weekday and this means beeing an early bird next morning. And thanks to the currently rather poor weather conditions, some headbangers prefer the comfi livingroom back home instead going out. Last but not least - all under 30 year old's are asking first of all: who the hell is this? And the 50 visitors here are either oldies like me, insiders or just curious music lovers, who have come to check this band out.

Starting off is Black Blitz from Munich, who actually jumped in for the orginally planned support act, who had quit.

You can soon spot, that these guys are indeed a great choice, as they are good. Most of all it's singer/guitarist Thomas Bauer, who proves, that he's got quite a talent. Respect. Who'd have thought that, that there are stills some hidden pearls in the Munich area. These three guys, not to forget to mention bassist Christian Reiter und drummer Thomas Pribbenow give everything. And though fans are generelly tending to pre justice, because it's a local act, they soon get convinced about their talents. So in the end Black Blitz go down pretty well at this audiance here.

We get to hear tracks from the debut CD 'Born To Rock' and these sound what the album's title says. In any case, you should remember this band. And there is a chance to check 'em out again soon at various locations in and around Munich. Just check their website: http://blackblitz.de/

Next is  Ac-Angry, who in the past listened to the name  Tale Tellers.

How they got their new name is easy to guess. AC/DC meet Rose Tattoo. The result is solid Eighties Hardrock meets Metal dry and straight between the eyes, as we say so. It's nothing new or even innovative, but the band takes an effort to defend their reputation. In the past they had supported bands such as Black Label Society and Uriah Hepp, Grave Digger and more... And so maybe some of you out there remember their name. There is one bad thing about their appearance here tonight. The instruments are much too loud, and so the voice is drowning. It's not the band's fault, but rather up to their sound engineer...

However, but because of this, the band leaves only a mixed feeling at us. And some people say afterwards, that they prefered the opener to this band. I for my part think, we should give 'em a second chance, when they come again. Why not, everybody has good and bad days even sound engineers. And maybe next time things look different - who knows...

And whatever comes next, has to be seen and heard, to believe it...,

Already pre show at my little small talk with Kory Clarke - my first thought was: how can this guy sing one tune with this voice?!! Jes....!!!! Because that one seems more then just kaputt (broke). Even Lemmy from Motörhead seems like a nitingale compared to this here. And no this is not overdriven. Halleluja, I don't know how to describe this. I mean, this man used to have a real good voice once upon a time. But between this and back then there are worlds apart. Okay, we all get older and change. But this here is overwhelming. As I said before, you've got to see/hear this, to believe it. But there is a clue behind all this. And this is the fact, that Kory can still manage to get the place boiling here thanks to his huge stage presence and aura. Seriously but Kory's got this special little something. And this is saving him from the vocal apocalypse. I for my part am surprised, that he or better his voice gets through this 80 minutes showtime...

The new album gets a little neclected live, but therefore we get many Warrior Soul oldies to hear. Only one piece of music I miss. And this is the band's biggest output 'The Wasteland'. Most kids here don't realize this, as they are not that familiar  with the music in generell. But when you know them, then it's a little like - the Rolling Stones didn't play 'Satisfaction'.

That's it for this time, and the result is a rather mixed feeling on my tongue. It's kind of a spice you don't forget for a long time, thanks to it's burned nuance, which is fascinating but with a very abstract touch. Whether this is enough for a second spring ain't too sure yet... That's why we've gotta wait and see and drink some tea... - with a shot of course :-)
