I assume, I don't need to tell the Die hard fans much more about this band here, a band, who had been around in the international Scene already in the middle of the Eighties. They were celebrated as one ot the first black hardrock groups, and their biggest hit singles evolved between 1988 and 1991, such as
‚Cult Of Personality’, ‚Glamour Boys’, ‚Type’ and not to forget ‚Love Rears It’s Ugly Head’. After that it became a little quiet, which led into a hiatus of Living Colour in 1994. But only 10 years later these four guys got together again. Since then 2 albums   ‚Collideøscope’ (2003) and The Chair in the Doorway (2009) have been released. And occassionally the band, who is still Corey Glover, Vernon Reid, Doug Wimbish and Will Calhoun is back for live action, when they are not too busy with their own individually Fusion projects. They are all perfectionists in their own way. And their concerts are mostly a piece of art. Mind me, they still can manage, that such a show never becomes boring or too long and complicated, but rather is worthwhile great entertainment. And that's what it is in the little town of Wörgl in beautiful Austria, where our show is gonna happen tonight. In the end there are aprox. 350 music lovers here, many of them, who don't know the band from back in the Eighties, but still know their music of course.
Unfortunately I missed out on the support, which had been local rock act Mother's Cake

And so the magic for me is starting when our Glamour Boys step onto the tablet and start off with a bombastic 'Preachin' Blues'  continuing straight with 'Cult Of Personality'

No, this foursome hasn't changed indeed over the years, exept maybe some unimportant visual aspects. But thanks god this doesn't play a role anyway, - mind me, we all get older, don't we......
Their talents and skills has certainly not suffered, as they are constantly in practice by playing their butts off all over the world with their various projects. Vernon Reid once again shows, what a phantastic guitarist he is. the same for Mr.Wimbish on the four strings, and Corey Glovers proves, that hiw very individual dress code, doesn't influence his
aura and most of all his voice. It's a physical miracle, that this man obviously not waste a single drop sweat, despite of his polar clothes. Well and not to forget our chocolate boy behind his overdimensional drumkit, who gets himself a lot of attention with some great drum stints inbetween.

Of course songs such as 'What's our Favorite Colour' mustn'd be missing and the driving 'Time's Up'.-
Living Colour show us their pleasure to play, where the sparkle is jumping constantly between band and audiance  for 2 hours.
And this again has the effect of a healthy drug onto the fans, who are getting crazy down there. Even some people from down in Italy have found their way to here to check out this brilliant band live on stage.

Unfortunatley once again it is a fact, that 3.000 chords have only drawn 300 people. And because of this the invisible question is always in the air, whether Living Colour will be back sometime in the future. Within nowadays music biz economy every single cent counts. But at least we can be sure, that all four of them will be back sooner or later with one of their other projects. And I can only advise you warmly to check those out, Exspeciall, when you appreciate high musical quality.
In that sense - Living Colour forever - yeah well I for my part would be already happy for a next time ......
