I take one thing ahead, I won't loose too many words here, like I usually do so at reviews. But first of all you find already 2 or 3 live reviews of HIM on this site, and second, supportband Paradise Lost had just been  here last september doing a headliner show at our Backstage here in Munich. ( see Review  here)
So I make it rather short and let the pictures do the talking.
Once again the Elserhalle is sold out when not even overcrowded in my point of view. To get it straight, you won't get a single spaghetti in there anymore. And after the usual odd 3 songs photographing I spend the rest of the show at the venue door, which is open to a front room. Nobody cares about the smoking band, and many gets thrown out from time to time on to the fresh air. But you can't controll the whole place, that's impossible. Hopefully that won't be a problem one day for the promoter.
Like mentioned before, there's not much more to say to supportband Paradise Lost the inventor of Gothic Metal, only the fact, that tonight they do not get across that well because of all those countless teenie girls in the first rows already screaming for the mainact. You can see, that singer Nick Holmes is pisst off by the situation, and it is understandable. But on the other hand, we knew that before, didn't we..... So what?!

Holy shit, but it's almost scary, when I look at all those youngsters, who are concentrated just on one figure within so many bands. And with this one here, I don't understand it at all. Maybe it's his dark tense voice or whatsoever... Ville Valo - Superstar, who's duet with german actress Natalia Avelon doing a cover of 'summerwine' won him even more fame. The tragedy is, that most of these teenies here don't even know who did the original of this song (Lee Hazlewood and Nancy Sinatra had a hit with this song in 1967. And by the way, Chris Isaak has huge success with 'Wicked Games' from his album 'Heart Shaped World' in 1989.
But how should these kids now. Some of them weren't even born then.

Anyway, we can see, that Ville is holding  himself pretty well in a vertical position and doesn't move around like a ship in the eye of a taifun. There is no Jägermeister on stage, but just a few bottles of mineralwater and some beer. The only sign of beeing a bit insecure is this frequent holding tight to his microphone all the time.He doesn't care about the smokingban either.
HIM are doing their show like usual, but with an extra length of more than 2 hours. There's a superb leadguitar showing incredible skills. Respect, and Villes condition has gone up again. The setlist includes all hits but also some stuff from the current and sixth album Venus Doom.

instead of  Jägermeister it's Aqua Minerale -
at least  on stage

And the frontman's aura including hat and cigarette, does it's best to make the concert another success. Whether it's Dark- or how the band describes - Love Metel, - it doesn't matter. The finnish band has won surely another few fans, and next time they probably play an even bigger venue. Just do another coverversion or contribution to a movie, and the hype will be overflowing....

The finns haven't checked the smoking ban yet I presume......
