jau, there we are again after not even one year,- or better to get it straight, it was last april, when the canadian sunnyboys of Simple Plan visited us last time here in Germany. Review  April And apparently they did like it so much here, that they wanted to come back straight again. Yeah well, to be honest, it has been probably their management or label, who wanted to pull outta this success whatever they could do. - As you know, when you sit on such a wave of success, then you should ride it as long as the dollar rolls.
And it certainly does right now. Past April our good old Muffat venue was filled more than well, which meant aprox. 1.500 kids. This time it's the much bigger Zenith fitting in about 5.000 fans. And that what you could call a step up the ladder.
I have to confess, I do like this young rockband from Canada, who is actually going for 13 years now. But first in the last 1 or 2 years the got the right attention. Some of their songs went down really well over here and well in the charts, though not on the very top. But the big advantage of Simple Plan is the fact, that their music is 100% suitable for radio airplay. they are going for commerical mainstream rocksound which sticks in your ear, when once listened to. And these are songs you can easily sing along with. The third and selftitled album went to pos. 10 in the german charts here and in Canada even on 2. I won't write anything about the bandhistory here anymore You can read it
here. – However, the Zenith ain't sold out, but with these, just mentioned 5.000 fans they got so much devotion, that some other bands would become jealous by that.
There are 2 supportacts, whereby I do miss the first one. the second act is 'Zebrahead', who's name sounds somehow familar to me.

This californian group is going since 1996 and they can already look back on 8 albums, 4 DVD's and 13 singles.
They describe their style themselves as pop-punk, whereby the rap passages are pretty obvious. The music should impress the californian lifestyle. By the way Zebrahead are still an independed act in their home country and over here. Bur for instance in Japan they are already superstars playing stadiums with 50.000 people. In the year 2000 they got nominated for a grammy for 'Best Metal Performance'- And they are good friends with Lemmy Kilmister of Motörhead.
The show of Zebrahead is full of their youthful energy. And they get accepted by all these Simple Plan fans here very well.

live in Munich

The only thing what I'm a bit weary about are these many fucks and shit etc. because in the audiance are many kiddies not older than 12. So I think there is no need to tell all these youngsters this heavy swearing. - By the way outside are many mami's and daddy's waiting for the end of the show.
Zebrahead are doing well here and I would almost bet, that next time they are in Europe, they are playing a headliner tour on their own.

Shame, that Simple Plan get so much sold as a teenie boy band, because that way there is a certain risk of an only short life. Hope not so

Like I just said, I hope not, because this band has class, and I'm convinced, that they belong to the next generation hope of Rock'n'Roll. Artists like Simple Plan are needed for the society, to get this music going. I don't quite understand the screaming hype though of all these girlies in the front row and beyond. Neither singer Pierre Charles Bouvier, nor his band mates do look like a typical teenieboyband, are styled like Tokio Hotel or US5. They rather look pretty much like - next door's neighbour in jeans and shirt. Well Pierre has got some kinda aura, I've gotta give him that. And maybe it is this, what let's girls drop unconciously down tot he floor. On the other hand there are as many male fans here as female one's....

Simple Plan do not offer us extensive showelements or other extras, But they bomb us with lots of great songs, one after the other and steam their fans up to the ceiling in enthusiasm. Exspecially songs like 'When I'm Gone' or 'Love Is A Lie' gives us the feeling if there is an earthquake going on on the errupting Popokatapetl vulcano.
What else can you wish as  a band, then so much enthusiasm and great feeling during a gig. Well done Boys, really well done.

'Love Is A Lie' - live in Munich

I only hope that also my generation, the older one, is gonna discover this young band for themselves. Because some musiclovers are still not aware, that we need bands like this one here to keep Rock'n'Roll alive, when the oldies have passed away. I for my part hope that Simple Plan will be going for a long long time, and they don't get caught in thid god damn business system. Because this would be there death sooner or later...
Wish you good luck boys.....
