Now sooner or later it's slowly getting difficult for me. Because as often I've written about this artist on this website before, I honestly don't know anymore what else to write. On the other hand this exeptional musician has truly deserved and still does deserve a lot of press and promotion. That's why I can only repeat myself from my  last – and the one before the last Review
that Albert Lee honestly belongs to the best and fastest guitarist on this planet. And it's not only me saying this, but many other's as well in the music media including his no1 song 'Country Boy'.

Just to get a small over look once again, the 67 year old English man, who lives for more than 30 years in the USA, has worked with so many artists in the past next to his solo carriere. Just to name a few: Eric Clapton, Bo Diddley, Emmilou Harris,
Dolly Parton, Billy Wyman or Jackson Browne. And there is almost no award in the world, he didn't receive yet, including the grammy. But Albert still goes for undertstatement. And when he's not with one of all these just named or other artists on tour, then he's not heading out for a vacation, but rather tours with his own band Hogan's Heroes. Because only with those, he can really play and do what he personally likes most. Often mistaken with Alving Lee of Ten Years After, who earned quite a few credits in the past, instead of Albert, who'd played or written this or those lines. That's why you've gotta be rather careful and watch out about the true credits. It's also a fact, that Albert Lee is very faithful to us here in Munich and keeps returning on a regular base every single year to the
Rattlesnake Saloon always two nights after each other.

This time his visit has just been pushed a bit forward for about 3 months. And so tonight there is no freezing and ice and snow, while driving to Munich's very north. But instead it's raining like hell, and that's not so nice either. But Munich's no. 1 Country Bar
is really crowded both days - like always. And as Saloon head of service Gabi says: it's mostly the same people, who keep returning every new year - like myself.
The band plays 2 sets, each one for about 60 minutes. And the show is once again a travel in time back to the past with tons of songs by the Everly Brothers, Bo Diddley and and and...

Peter Baron on drums at one point tells us, that Albert played for years and years with the Everlys, and that's why the songs come so originall across. He himself has never known the Beatles, but he won't hesitate to perform a Beatles song. That one is entitled 'Oh Darling' and what can I say? It's also coming across very nice indeed, yeah well amost :-) I don't have to mention Gary Hogan on slideguitar anymore, who's solos compete  constantly with Albert Lee's arrangements. Brian Hodgson on bass we do know well from the past. Only Keyboarder Gavin Povey is not that long with them yet. But he's a great musician as well, showing his talents a lot during the 10 minutes version of  'Country Boy'

There is literatually not much more to say. Who ever goes for Good Old Time Rock'n'Roll and Country tunes is served best with Albert Lee and Hogan's Heroes. That's why I can only advice you again and again to go and see them, next time the band is in town. Because it is pretty sure they will come also back in 2011 - sure as the Amen in St. Petersdome.
